February 15-16    Understanding Relationship, Discerning Friendships   (Sr. Malen Java, rc)

We are essentially relational beings, called into communion with God, with others, with our selves and with all of creation. This weekend will facilitate a deeper understanding and appreciation of relationships and how these enhance our lives. It will also look at how to discern friendships so that they may become more life-giving.

February 17-19    Fire-Tested Gold: Living with Depression in the Light of Faith(Sr. Cecille Tuble, rc) – FULL

This weekend retreat is designed for those who suffer from depression, as well as those who take care of loved ones who struggle with this oft-debilitating disease. Through inputs, prayer, reflection and faith-sharing, the participants willl be led to see depression not only as a medical condition to be dealt with proper medical and therapeutic interventions, but also as a vehicle of God’s healing mercy and faithfulness. Like fire-tested gold, their faith will become stronger when the experience of depression is integrated within the greater context of their life as a whole, in the light of the God Who has never left them to suffer alone.

Note: participants who are clinically depressed (under medical care or taking anti-depressant medications) are required to present a medical clearance from their doctor.

Please note that this is an extended program for those who desire a longer prayer and rest in the Lord.  (Other dates: June 13-14)

March 7-8   Praying with Suffering Women in the Bible (Sr. Judette Gallares, rc) – CANCELLED

The weekend is a time for quiet reflection allowing God to speak to each one through some of the stories of suffering women in the Bible. It is also aimed at helping one find parallelism between the life experiences of biblical women and one’s own.

March 14-15     Integrating Life’s Losses  (Sr. Ana Malapitan, rc)

This retreat-seminar will enable you to deal with the “necessary losses” that are experienced in life and find creative ways of opening up to healing and wholeness.

April 4-5    Palm Sunday Retreat   (Sr. Cecille Tuble, rc)

This retreat is an invitation to follow Jesus as he makes his way to Jerusalem, a journey that will take him to the cross. In the shadow of his cross, may we find the grace to experience the love of a God who has never left us to suffer alone, and so draw strength and courage to embrace our own crosses, and to open our hearts to the suffering of the world. This is a silent retreat.

The movement from darkness to light is a central theme during Holy Week. This retreat will be an invitation to journey from the darkness of sin and death to the light of Jesus’ resurrection, using the paintings of Italian artist Caravaggio. There will be conferences given by the retreat facilitator, personal time for prayer and reflection, and opportunity for individual consultation with Cenacle Sisters.

May 23-24    Dealing with Feelings: The Place of Emotions in Relationships and the Spiritual Life    (Sr. Cecille Tuble, rc)

We are called by God to fullness of life (Jn 10:10), and to follow Jesus who embodies what it means to be fully human. Being fully human involves learning to embrace our emotions as a vital part of our life. This program looks at creative and caring ways in dealing with feelings, and shows the importance of emotions in relationships and the spiritual life.

Through a vibrant engagement in light and shadows, a path of self-compassion may be opened up by Awareness in Solitude.  With loving kindness, we embark into healing of family dynamics.  How can we allow the best in each family member to thrive?  We get to see, hear, and taste crises in family life with compassion.  This workshop taps into roots of stillness in our lives, challenging us to sink to greater depths in the ‘marketplace’ of family and community life.
